Traumatic Brain Injury Across the Lifespan in Zambia

The Traumatic Brain Injury Across the Lifespan in Zambia project aims to define the health and economic burden of traumatic brain injuries across the lifespan in Zambia by strengthening local data infrastructure.

US-Zambia TIRP

United States-Zambia Trauma and Injury Research Training Program (US-Zambia TIRP) aims to strengthen research capacity on the health, social and economic impacts of trauma and injuries across the lifespan in Zambia through an innovative model of sustainable capacity development guided by the tenets of Universal Health Care.

AKU TIRTP

Aga Khan University Trauma and Injury Research Training Program (AKU TIRTP) aims to strengthen research capacity on trauma and injuries across AKU institutions in South Asia and East Africa through an institutional model of collaboration.

 

EnablER: A Capacity Building Program in Pakistan

The Enabling Ethical Research (EnableIER) program aims to increase research ethics capacity within Pakistan by linking it with the three domains of ethics – clinical ethics, public health ethics, and organizational ethics by developing professionals with an understanding of local contexts and tools to discern ethical issues and identify groups at risk during research.

US-Zambia Risk-NCD

US-Zambia Risk-NCD, aims to strengthen research capacity on the long-term health and economic consequences of major risk factors for NCDs across the lifespan in Zambia through an innovative model of sustainable capacity development with the University of Zambia School of Public Health through developing a core group of researchers focused on risk factors for NCDs, promote research, and create a Unit for risk factors for NCD research in
Zambia.

US-Mali Research Ethics Training Program

The US-Mali Research Ethics Training Program aims to strengthen research ethics education and research in Mali through an innovative model of sustainable capacity development to prepare the next generation of ethics researchers.

 

Enabling Environment

The goal of the Assessment of the Enabling Environment for Road Safety Civil Society Organizations in Three Countries project is to evaluate the environment for road safety NGO/CSO-government relations in Ethiopia, Uganda, and Zambia and support capacity-building for multisectoral cooperation.

30 km/h

The goal of the Assessment of 30 km/h urban speed zones and factors contributing to local modification for lower speed in Cameroon, Kenya and Rwanda project is to evaluate implementation of 30 km/h speed limits on urban roads in Cameroon, Kenya, and Rwanda and support advocacy for speed limit reductions to 30 km/h.

EPIC

Eliminating Personal Immobility for Children (EPIC) in Africa aims to eliminate personal immobility for disabled children in sub-Saharan Africa.

SERC-DRC

The Strengthening Ethical Review Capacity in Democratic Republic of Congo (SERC-DRC) project aims to strengthen ethics knowledge and reasoning skills, and enhance knowledge of IRB administration at KUSPH-IRB.

Estimating Road Crash Generated Disability

Estimating Road Crash Generated Disability is a one-year project with the World Bank’s Global Road Safety Facility (GRSF) with the goal of understanding the immediate and long-term health consequences of traumatic injuries in selected LMICs.

The main goal of this study is to define the availability, affordability, prevalence and patterns of consumption of such commercially produced products as energy-dense, highly processed foods and beverages high in saturated fats, trans fats, free sugar and salt (HFSS) among young adults in Zambia.
